Artist biography and background:

My interest with jewelry design began at a very early age when my parents took me to see the Egyptian collection at the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston.  Much of the jewelry, although thousands of years old appeared to be very modern in design.  I was intrigued by the use of turquoise and the intracacy of the work as well as the superb craftsmanship.

I attended Pratt Institute in New York  where I studied interior and architectural design. During my career in this field I continued to have an interest in all types of design ranging from jewelry to contemporary art.  Modern design continues to be very influential to me and in the design and composition of my work.

My jewelry career began with an interest in glass fusinq.  I find the colors, patterns and uniqiue color shifting characteristics
of dichroic glass especially fascinating.  My passion is taking this material and integrating it with silver and the occasional gemstone accent to create jewelry that are miniature pieces of wearable art.  The designs are intended to be modern and colorful.....and that can be worn with any attire.

As you can see with the representive work shown, bold form, texture and color are the elements that I work with to create
designs that are individual and unique.  I continue to find my inspiration through the work of modern design, contemporary art and industrial design as well as the elegant simplicity that is evident in the natural world around us.
